Shams Emaar, the corporate social responsibility team of Emaar, will honour workers for their commitment and dedication to building the city, with ‘A Pack to Give Back’ campaign. The initiative is just in time for the preparations for the Holy Month of Ramadan and as part of Shams Emaar’s #BuildingCommunities campaign.
On May 1, the International Labour Day, the Shams Emaar team, which comprises of Emaar employees and led by Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Managing Director of Emaar Properties, will come together to create around 10,000 packs containing numerous essentials – from soaps and shampoos to a cap to shield the workers from the sun, just to name a few. Additionally, these will all be provided in a reusable bag.
A portion of the packs will be distributed on May 10 to workers at a select site in Downtown Dubai and over the coming days, the remainder of the packs will be distributed to the workers at remaining Emaar project sites, within the vicinity. Various Emaar entities have joined hands for the initiative including staff at Address Hotels + Resorts, Rove Hotels, The Dubai Mall and other divisions of Emaar.
In March this year, Shams Dubai hosted over 2,000 workers at weekly #BuildingCommunities events held at RISE Dubai Creek Harbour. They were treated to an evening of entertainment and food with activities including karaoke, competitions, and open-air movie screening. In other initiatives, Shams Emaar has also hosted People of Determination at RISE Dubai Creek Harbour.
Ahmad Al Matrooshi said: “This simple gesture goes a long way for the people who work tirelessly to build our society. We will continue to roll out various #BuildingCommunities initiatives, especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan, to foster stronger bonding with the workers and the community.”
The #BuildingCommunities campaign was launched last year by hosting community Iftars for the varied workforce that supports Emaar and complements the CSR initiatives led by Emaar Foundation.
